Since the weekend is nearly here, this is a worthwhile study and learning hack to try over the weekend.
Have you ever noticed that when you are forced to teach someone something, you suddenly learn that ‘whatever it is’ really quickly ? Well this is the focus of this hack. Find a study buddy who is learning the same stuff and follow these steps:
1. Create your study materials, whether those are mindmaps or flash cards or whatever.
2. Pick a topic and do your self study. Preferably timed, depending on the subject. Learn it quickly.
3. Now put your study materials away, and teach your partner the topic that you just learned.
4. Swap and repeat.
This is studying and learning at speed. This hack forces you to push that information you just reviewed into your long term memory. When you are focused on applying that newly learned information to a specific task, in this case 'teaching someone’, you focus on that task and the absorption of that information becomes a byproduct. It really works. Good luck ! .
