This old tip still works
You probably remember this old tip when you learned your spelling words in kindergarten. And I'm sure you haven't thought about it since!
Well it’s actually still quite useful and valuable even when we’re older and learning more serious stuff in school or university. Simply because when we use this flow while we study, we use visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning.
We look at the information we want to learn. That's 'visual' learning of course. Then you say and hear the information by speaking your notes out loud. That's 'auditory'. Then to further re-enforce the knowledge you re-write your notes. That's 'kinaesthetic' as you are actively doing something and not just staring at your notes. And finally of course.. you check that you got it right, and finally repeat the process until it is mastered.
We all have different learning styles, which is our natural way of learning, so by using this flow, we are appealing to the three learning styles. Ultimately by being active in our study, we hopefully will be more focused, and will learn our stuff quicker and easier.
