Common questions from students and parents. Can't find yours? Contact us and we'll help.
Which course should I take first?
Start with QUEST Study Skills System - Level 1 to understand how effective studying works. Then progress to Level 2 for practical application. The 60 Days Planning course can be taken anytime, before, during, or after Level 1 and Level 2 courses.
How long does it take to complete each course?
We have provided approximate lengths of time to complete the courses, however they can be taken at your own pace. So you can take as little or as long to complete them. The course is intended to be a resource you can revisit.
How long will I have access to the courses?
Lifetime access. Take them at your own pace, come back whenever you need a refresher, and use them year after year as you progress through your studies.
What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2?
Level 1 teaches why certain study methods work and others don't. It's about understanding the framework. Level 2 teaches how to actually apply those methods with specific techniques and strategies. Think of it as: Level 1 = the system, Level 2 = the skills.
Do I need Level 1 if I already study pretty well?
If you're getting the results you want and feel confident in your approach, you might not need Level 1. But if you're working hard without understanding why your methods work (or don't), Level 1 gives you that foundation. Even strong students benefit from understanding the system.
Can I do Level 2 right after Level 1?
Yes! The two courses are designed to work together. Level 1 gives you the understanding of the system, and Level 2 gives you hands-on application.
Can I take Level 2 without Level 1?
Level 2 builds on concepts from Level 1, so we recommend completing Level 1 first. However, if you already have a strong understanding of active study principles (not just passive re-reading and highlighting), you could start with Level 2.
Is the 60 Days Planning course part of QUEST?
The planning course uses QUEST principles and works perfectly alongside the Level 1 and Level 2 courses, but it can also be taken on its own if you just need help getting organised.
Is this just for certain subjects?
No. QUEST works across all subjects. The framework is the same whether you're studying Maths, English, Science, History, Languages, or anything else.
What if I'm already in Year 12 or in university?
It's not too late. While starting earlier is ideal, Year 12 students or even university students often benefit the most from Level 1 because they finally understand why their old methods weren't working. The framework helps you make the most of the time you have left.
Will this course teach me how to take notes, make flashcards, study for exams?
Partly. Level 1 is about understanding the system, not learning specific techniques. It does cover the principles of learning and preparing for exams. For the how-to hands-on strategies such as note taking, you'll want to complete Level 2.
How is this different from other study skills courses?
Most study courses give you tips and tricks without explaining why they work. QUEST Study Skills gives you a simple framework based on learning science, that you can follow step-by-step, for every subject, year on year. This is more useful than a collection of random study tips.Â
I'm a parent. Can I take these courses with my child?
Absolutely! Parents can take the courses to better support their children's study habits. The courses are designed to be student-friendly, but the principles work for anyone who wants to learn more effectively.
Can I get a refund after I have enrolled?
Unfortunately courses are not refundable. These are digital products which once accessed and/or downloaded are not able to be returned like physical books and products.Â
